Summer Begins Again!

Summer vacation is here!  We have an eventful summer planned, Avery and I.  A bit of traveling, but mostly camping, water parks, picnics, and fishing.  I've gotten some pretty good feedback from friends and family about last summer's blog, and our Adventure-A-Day philosophy.  So I vowed to do it again: that is, blog about the adventures Avery and I take together.  We try and find adventure every day and in even the most menial tasks.  My promise to you is to give you a glimpse of some of the silly things we do, see, and say during our escapades.  So log on, sit back, and enjoy!  Viva Adventure!

From there to here,
From here to there,
Funny things are everywhere.

Welcome to our blog!  We rang in the summer with some of our favorite activities, including some new-found never before tried favorites! This first picture is from one of our recent trips to the zoo.  We tried out the skyride and Avery was a big fan.

We took Avery fishing, and she was a pro.  Unlike her mommy or daddy, Avery was a stellar fisher.  She got a few bites (unlike her parents) and was a pro a reeling in the line.  Next time, we plan to use live bait.  Hopefully we will catch something.

My friend, Amanda, made this dress and passed it along to us.  When Avery put it on today she saw the cherry print and was dying to have some cherries.  So we picked some up at the store.  She was so cute sitting on the porch in her cherry dress eating up the sweetness.  (I was too!)
In the heat of the day (Colorado Springs was hotter than Las Vegas today!) Avery helped me to plant some flowers.  She enjoyed dumping the dirt in and asking where the worms are.  (A week ago, we put our left-over worms into our front flower bed.  She picked up each worm, strung it through her fingers, and laid them from their middle in a nice neat row from a sprinkler head.  She said they were going to a birthday party!)

We can't have summer without a pool, right?  I picked this one up today for $10.  It is a lot less headache than the big one from last year.  (Thanks cousin Kristi for the Kai Lan swimming suit!)

Avery is a big girl now and goes pee pee in the potty.  Her favorite thing to do when we are out is to use the electric hand dryer.

We hope that you've enjoyed our first couple of days of summer.  I can't believe it is here!

P.S.  One of the funniest things that Avery has said recently has come up 3 times already without any prompting.  She said it again last night when she was getting into bed.  She tells me that she misses her other mommies.  I ask where they are and she always says Home Depot.  Ponder that until next time :)
